Our Approach
Our Process Works
Each child will have their own, customized personal care plan (PCP) to aid their development and potential transition. The PCP will consist of daily goals that align with that child’s medical diagnosis, personality, and basic household expectations and guidelines.
The child’s progression within the PCP will be managed and assessed through a daily point system that tracks how well the child aligns with their goals. Rewards and/or corrective actions will be based on a sum of total of points the child accumulates through the week.
Through this incentive-based system, the child will develop a sense of balance and accountability that stems from a basis of reasoning/understanding, allowing the child to precisely measure the consequences of their actions.
I will also incorporate a focus on health and wellness to counter the negative self-esteem issues many children face today. This method will be introduced through The Art of Fitness; a family owned local training facility that provides physical/mental wellness activities, educational guidance and supportive leadership to increase their confidence. A key differentiator of Heartbeat of Family Group Home is our programming which is 100% focused on developing these adolescences into young adults. Each week there will be designated days to aim specifically on:
- Developing common independence skills aiding their ability to be self-sufficient
- Training/yoga sessions to improve physical & mental health
